Rockstar Sewing

Testimonials

Hear from some of my greatest rockstars and friends!

Paul Ashworth

CEO Bernina USA

“What Martha Pullen has done for the Sewing industry is immeasurable. There are generations of sewers engaged today due to her inspiration and encouragement. I am thrilled she is back in full force and working with BERNINA. She started all those years ago, doing Heirloom sewing on a mechanical BERNINA. Here she is today with our most modern Embroidery machine, the B790E and our Air threading Serger the L890. We have come full circle together”.

Friend and Repeat Pupil

“The infamous ‘Energizer Bunny’ has nothing over Martha Pullen. I have never known a person with so much love of life, which permeates into the sewing world. Martha has shown so many of us that we have abilities beyond our wildest imagination to design exquisite creations - and be divinely proud of the end results!

When you stop learning, you start dying,’ said Albert Einstein. Martha opens that “door of knowledge” and gives us the confidence to step through towards accomplishments in a world of endless possibilities. I cannot wait to experience stepping through the door of knowledge and learning at Rockstar Sewing!

We are truly blessed to have Martha Pullen in our lives!"

"Martha Pullen (aka Mother Martha to me) has been a guiding light in the sewing industry for decades. She is dedicated to sharing her passion and providing inspiration and education to a worldwide audience, doing so with a dose of humor and entertainment. While I could spend a few paragraphs here reminiscing over stories of our times together, it is more important to use this space to simply state that your creative world will be enriched if you will just take the time to experience Mother Martha. Watch, and learn!"

"Martha Pullen is to the sewing world what Bill Gates is to computers. Although she didn't invent the sewing machine, she revolutionized the way we use it. She brought intricate heirloom sewing into the 20th Century -- re-creating those delicate hand-stitches by using a home sewing machine.

I met Martha when I was arranging special events for the Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, Washington. She was one of our most popular teachers, and when we decided to add a special evening event to our schedule -- Martha stepped up and provided two hours of entertainment that was Vegas-worthy.

Her classes and seminars became so popular, Martha built an original business model -- licensing others to teach her methods. She has always been an early adapter....willing and eager to learn new technology and use it to benefit her students. I believe Martha's secret sauce is her incredible curiosity. She has never been content to rest on her laurels -- and I can't wait to see what she does next.!"

Wayne Hoffman

Former President Hoffman Publishing Co., Inc.

"Martha Pullen, What a name! It means God inspired, enthusiastic, excitement, intelligent, creative, loyal, fun, teacher, and friend!

Martha brought her original Doll book to be published and WOW, what a time we had. Being relatively new in the publishing and print business, it was such a joy being around Martha which led to being like family. Martha loves the Lord which shows in all that she does!"

My Tribute to A Home Sewing Industry Icon,

Martha Campbell Pullen

By: Ricky Brooks, Co-founder RNK Distributing

I am proud to say I have known of Martha and her service to the Home Sewing Industry for over half a Century. I am honored to say I have known her for over four decades and blessed to have worked directly with her for over three decades. In my opinion, Martha chose the perfect name for her new website and adventure, for she truly is, and has always been The Home Sewing Industry’s “Rockstar”!

I was introduced to our great Industry in the early 1970’s and if you were lucky enough to have been involved in selling the concept of Home Sewing at that time then you will agree that the twenty-year span from 1970 to 1990 was at best challenging. Our amazing Country was evolving, along with our Culture. Stay at Home Mom’s evolved into Working outside the home to help support the family financially. There was little to no time for sewing and there was no time for teaching the children or grandchildren the art of “Sewing”. Some might have speculated that the grand old, unstoppable, Home Sewing Industry that survived Two World Wars, and Depression, was going away!

Fortunately, no one told Martha Campbell Pullen! Not that it would have changed her trajectory of becoming one of the people that helped to save The Home Sewing Industry! In 1981 Martha founded The Martha Pullen Company, and for 30 years she and her team taught, encouraged, and Inspired generations to KEEP STITCHING! Thank you, Martha, thank you for saving my and many other’s businesses. Thank you for helping to save our Industry!

It was no surprise when Martha was rewarded with The Lifetime Achievement Award, and if you thought that would be the termination of her drive to do more, help more, and achieve more, then you don’t really know The Martha Campbell Pullen that is known and LOVED all around the World!

When I first learned about Martha’s new adventure “Rockstar Sewing”, I was elated! Hopefully, you were too. If you haven’t met Martha, or if you don’t know her, you must make it one of your goals to do so. If you love our industry, if you love to express your creativity, if you love to expand your ability as a hobbyist, or entrepreneur, you must meet this Rockstar!

In summary, if I only had one sentence to define Martha Campbell Pullen, it would start and end with her loyalty and faithfulness to God, to family, and to her millions of friends and fans, of which I am one!

Thank You Sweet Martha,

Ricky

Gloria McKinnon

Owner of Anne’s Glory Box, Australia

"Once in a lifetime you meet someone who changes EVERYTHING" and for me that was Martha Campbell Pullen.  I was introduced to Martha by my friend, Pat Kyser in Huntsville in 1988. Since then Martha has introduced thousands and thousands of Australian ladies to Heirloom Sewing and we were blessed to learn from the Master. Martha's enthusiasm and love for Heirloom Sewing that she shared with everyone has changed their lives forever.  Some were able to make it their new career and for others starting a Grandmothers Hope Chest for their family was exactly what they needed to do,  but didn't know until they met Martha!

Martha Campbell Pullen has been a big part of my life for these 34 years and has become a close friend but I also know that without her I would not have this amazing life. My advice would be to take any opportunity that allows you to learn from the best and that would be Martha!"

Donny Cathey

President Cathey’s Sewing & Vacuum Tucson, AZ

"Talented, but she also demonstrates values that make her one of the treasures of our industry.

I met Martha at a convention in Chicago. I attended her class and without hesitation, I signed up for her event, which was booked out for almost two years. It was so fun; we had her back every other year. Our customers loved learning from her and to this day still talk about her trunk shows.
I’m excited to have her back teaching and sharing the love of sewing with the world."

Sara Domville

Chief Revenue Officer, America’s Test Kitchen

"Martha Pullen is an inspiration to all those lucky enough to meet her. Her leadership, business acumen and overwhelming kindness make her the perfect teacher, mentor and colleague. I am proud to call her my friend"
